Magic

By Caitlin Hoyng

I have this text designed as a series of notes on Magic, an online Book of Shadows to take with you on the go. Everything that I think you’d need to know about Magic to do it well, for basic groundwork, the beginnings of the Great Work, is the intention for inclusions. It should function as an introduction to magic as a living praxis.

I include the basic steps necessary for the building of a proper light body, for proper ritual structuring, for systematic spellwork, and explore other themes, like herbalism, animal spirits, and Kabbalah.

Consider this blog post a mini grimoire for your personal enjoyment. It shall remain online-only, since I believe it covers the basics too much as compared to novel information and rituals on magic, albeit I do include novel information and rituals on magic. Thereby it could be a book but it is primarily, as I will discuss – notebook.

Don’t mind too much, then, that stylistically this page is a NOTEBOOK, not HIGH LITERATURE. This is what I mentioned I would discuss.

I. The Soul

The soul is the magical essence at the center of a human that goes on to the next life after this, that engages in magic, too, but it’s made of the stuff, so You do it. It can have past lives, animal spirits, etc.

I believe souls can have writ ordained partners, and different types thereof. There are karmic partners, also known as twin flames, who you meet to work out a personal issue on your part via your reactions to them and the relationship. Often quite spicy, those relationships. There are soulmates – your ideal partner in life, romantically or otherwise. Then there are divine partners – incredibly important soul contract relationships. Cleopatra and Marc Anthony represent “divine partnership” in my eyes – their relationship shaped world history.

I believe in soul contracts – that your soul comes with instructions, writ whims and ambitions. Like an otherworldly fated bucket list, almost. I believe in those. That each has their own journey.

The soul is an interesting thing – vantaged differently than the mind or ego, not so much your emotions as it is your zest, implying it’s good that they’re so complicated as to include notions of romance, the animalistic, the magical sides of life.

The soul would be what would go on to afterlife or reincarnate, for those interested in such practices. I have notes on how to get to the afterlife in my final section, Psychopomps.

Aleister Crowley, famed occultist, magician, and demonologist, referred to a concept known as the Great Work. This is the Work one does which Works towards the soul’s highest intentions, and towards a more Enlightened Aeon of Humanity. Pay attention to what life activities in your own dealings feel describable as “The Great Work.” Are there any?

II. My Credentials

I’ve worked as a magician in Thelema and as a hedge witch, a Hekatean witch, a Dionysian priestess, a Satanist, and a shaman.

My particular credential I’d like to bring up is an investment in ornate forms of ritual workings upon my own soul. One involves becoming, schematically, a vampire. I shall recommend this ritual yet now.

Don a wizardly affect with me! Join my soul in the nether realms: The ritual: Follow these instructions exactly: You’ll want a consecrated wand (next section) on hand already to do this ritual: I’ve included pictures to help with the process:

  1. The first 3 steps are interestingly necessary to be a good mage. It takes more than having a wand. Take magic into your body – use your Will, imagination, and a consecrated wand* to do this.
  2. Imagine tying magic to your body (especially fingers – corporal bodily wands for on the go) and imagine it being kept through that tie within you; cast this spell with your wand.
  3. Cast a spell with your wand to “program” your fingers into wands, as noted above, this is quite handy. Then “program” (use your pre-existing wand) the way it which you can cast a spell, cast this as a spell with your pre-consecrated wand, too. It could be snapping, rubbing your fingers together, but something that differentiates the movement you’re making as spellwork is helpful.
  4. Carve a “stigmata” (like a belly button’s origins, remanufactured) for a point of connection to your soul to be realized. You can do the carving with your imagination and a spell cast with the wand – make sure to cast this as a spell, don’t just imagine it. You can actually carve/tattoo a connecting point, too. This is important, this step.
  5. Craft ties to your soul in your imagination, cast a spell tying you to your soul. Important-ish.
  6. Cast a spell to send your soul out of your body. Vital to join me in the vampiric nether other-side of Earth.
  7. Optional, to turn into an undead warlock vampire of Power: DE-HUMANIZE: KILL THE HEART CHAKRA (CAST AS SPELL). This should give you a more warlockian vampiric affect.
  8. Then AFTER OPTIONAL 7: CAST A SPELL TO “BE IMMORTAL” (IN THAT THINE AFTERLIFE IS, AND THINE AFTERLIFE IS _____ [cast spell as ye’d like to specify])
  9. Not on picture, so be it, Contact Lilith to be turned into a vampire astrally.

*To cast a spell, state your intention, use Willpower, and flick your wrist, snap your fingers, using a CONSECRATED WAND, which is TIED and ATTUNED to MAGIC ALREADY.

Above: HOW TO: BECOME A SICK-ASS VAMPIRE UNDEAD BLACK MAGE

So the thing about killing your heart is that it’s exactly in line with the maxim of Thelema, which I take quite seriously, which is “Love is the law, love under Will,” alongside, “Do as thou Wilt shall be the whole of the law.” These two maxims taken together register to me as a recommendation from the nether realms to kill your heart.

What it does is make you more cold to the stirrings of the heart but not the soul. What this affects is a subtle influence which should make you more confident and less loving in the meek kind of way. You will still be capable of love on this drug.

What so happens is that someone special to me said they disagree with the procedure. What so happens is that they requested that I undo this procedure which is of course possible. What so happens is that in life you’re allowed to explore, so step 7 is of course optional.

What so happens is that I did not at first undo step 7 as I found myself seeking to spread a specific kind of evil in the world which is labeled “vampirism.” Not much later I decided again to operate, found “wild heart” to be an acceptable spell state as well. This is of course if you decide to tinker with your heart, to grow your own via language, and equally acceptable is to let it grow wild on its own.

What’s important about exploring the heart including in exploring a dead one is that a heart-based journey is extremely interesting for emotional processing, which is a seat of wisdom. What’s even more interesting is how killing the heart chakra seats you psychologically more in the mind, and it’s even more interesting, oh yes, how the heart and the soul’s urges and twinges may be better differentiated through a temporary death of the heart.

What we’re looking for here is to explore the human ecosystem more fully, which makes more clear how the mind is something related to magic, and how the mind holds sway over the entire body ecosystem magically is a fascinating layout most similar by comparison to the treatment of lymph nodes in Frankenstein. So in essence and by proxy to allusions to Frankenstein what we’re truly looking for by exploring the human ecosystem as it relates to magic is discovering the secret mysteries of the universe and life itself. Temporarily killing your heart chakra is merely one means of doing this.

What this ritual does in steps 5-6 is it effectively gives you a soul which operates as a Borderlands and “Other Side” Helper to ye: The chart of how these planes generally function and could be visualized is below: Magic the Firewall, Magic the Borderland, Magic Itself exists Everywhere, as stated:

Below, BY COMPARISON [to the SICK-ASS VAMPIRE UNDEAD BLACK MAGE], THE MAGICAL BODY CHART OF A WHITE MAGE (HUMAN FOOL)

On Black Magic, I vantage it as the Magic of Harm, malefic magick, here, not the Left Hand Path (doing spells without the help of a God), which some people conflate and/or get confused. So White Magic is Neutral or to Positive Effect, benefic magick; Black Magic is to Harm Some/one/thing, malefic magick. The Right Hand Path is to do spells with Divine Intervention, Involvement, and Prayer; The Left Hand Path (Luciferian by some descriptions, but not if you’re a warlock and use your contract as a basis for spellcraft…) is to DIY your Spellcraft, casting spells without the use of prayer and petitioning.

Why do I capitalize things, you may be wondering. Simply because they’re important concepts.

In summary, the ritual to join me in the nether realms as your own personal “higher-self” guide follows: Carve a stigmata wound (magically) onto yourself in the mind, using it as the thought of point of connection to the soul, and project outwards your soul to exist separately from your body, as your existing personal guide. You could also create an AI-inspired avatar of thineself, alternatively, to guide ye through life in ways which are in-line with you Yourself, your soul’s whims and ambitions.

Yes, this is a complex ego death to undergo.

The notion of helpful temporary soul loss intrigues.

I’ve heard Lucifer has a city for souls that travel out of the body to act as guides and magicians. It’s called HELL! Yes! Go to HELL for wizard power!

III. Consecrating Wands

To consecrate a wand, it’s easy. Imagine magic going into your fingers and keep it there. Then imagine it going into the wand. Now seal it off with a bow and boom – it’s done. Cleanse with smoke as necessary.

IV. Basic Ritual Structuring

I use as basis for ritual work the mapped layout of a grapho-semantic square for the Double Goddess figure (i.e. figurine, the Hohle Fels Figurine, which looks like a bifurcated Venus of Willendorf figurine). This ritual working makes use of the flow of semiotics from the Upper Paleolithic to allow energy to flow smoothly and fully, to run its full course and to cast spells well. The grapho-semantic square follows (Harrod 2011):

You begin in the upper left corner – Center!, beginning with “womb, sleep” and work your way through this series of energetic movements clockwise going inwards. An example of how this ritual structuring flows, perhaps?

This is an extensively long way to run through the meditations of a spell but regardless we’ll go with it because I find the blend of past and witchcraft fascinating.

  • Womb, sleep: Get into a meditative space.
  • Mother, breast: Begin the ritual by smoking ganja.
  • Center! Concentrate! Self-Possession! Take in Essence!: As you smoke, center yourself and take on your most self-empowered state of mind. Concentrate on the power of your magical will.
  • Ancestor, origin, first, source: Seek now to connect with Source energy, directly with your soul, or with the deity, spirit, or elemental of your choosing.
  • Penis: Whip out your wand and get ready to start working.
  • Sway, tremble: Allow the world itself to shake with willingness to bend to thine spellwork.
  • Happen, intend, do: Think of your intention for your spellwork now.
  • Cupule, dot: Boop! Get ready to cast that particular spell.
  • Unfold! Emerge! Rise! Grow! Destiny! Shape!: Place your intention for the spell into the cosmos and into the specific circumstances you’d like to influence or sway, and let these intentions blossom widely into action now.
  • Give birth: Allow your spell to be born with a life of its own now. This will help. Like Frankenstein’s monster, it just needs that spark.
  • Unfurl, vine: Imagine your spell, your intention unfurling over the world with power.
  • Spirit: Reconnect now to Source, to your soul, to your spirit of interest. Anything left undone? Any other spells need casting?
  • Spiral, curl, arc, exuberance: Allow yourself to become ecstatic at the power, the joy, the splendors of your spellwork. Expand your influence in this ecstasy now.
  • Flow! Undulating Movement! Sea!: Let the magic wash over you and the cosmos like waves. Yes, this is a long, delicious process. This stage may last for months.
  • Flood, pour out rain, drip, overflow: This is when it starts getting good, when you start noticing the flooding rains of your magic coming back to you in the form of real world results. It’s a bit macabre.
  • Emit: Seek now to emit thine light body, because why not be a dazzling prism?
  • Strike through, stand, spirit being: If any problems still exist with regardance to the spellwork cast versus circumstances seen by comparison, cut, strike through to the center of the matter with a spell. Seek information from spirit – what’s the problem? Meditate on how to get closer to your desired scenario now. By this point some time has passed since beginning the ritual.
  • Protrude, bulge, pregnant, surge, awe: Having gotten results from your spellwork, yes, we shall manifest this, is there any new magic you’d like to birth into the world? Get pregnant with a new idea for magic, let it simmer. Think about what’s next for wizardry, goddamn it!
  • Contact! Cleave! Hold Together! Bind! Twin!: Bind up everything you’ve cast and meditated on and explode it once more into the cosmos like a magic bomb. Why not. We’re just making certain it works at this point, plus the energetics of it are fun.
  • Double abundance, pair, power of two: Now make the spells work twice as well, to the power of two, yes.
  • Crush: Your enemies.
  • Now circling clockwise into the middle of the square…
  • Circle back, from center: Center yourself again in an act of self-possession.
  • Branch, blossom, sprout: Allow whatever healing you need at this time to blossom within and across your light body.
  • Flow, stream, river, sap: Take in the nourishment of magic’s essence like water, allow it to flow through you.
  • Bifurcate, split, cleave, double plentitude: Finish up your ritual, cut the umbilical cord to the new magic babies, your magic spell(s), yes, and seek now to become the Goddess, yes, the Venus of Willendorf bifurcated, split. Yes, you may be a Venus. Yes, it is time, after all this work, don’t you think? I mean you’ve been pregnant with spells for months, and here they are, you might as well be a Goddess, eh?

This is, in essence, a very long form way to visualize the movement of a spell all the way through.

So therefore I will naturally share the 6 transformations of the Double Goddess, ritual embodiments to transform into, one and then the other and then the other. You could think of these 6 transformations as representing ritual faces of the Goddess, as ritual masks, or as ritual personas to embody in stages.

What’s so fun about this is that what we’re doing is taking part in a form of human spirituality more ancient than the oldest city, even. Taking it all the way back to hunter-gatherer paganism, yes, I shall. I’ll allow you to decode for yourself what each transformation would mean to you.

The transformations are as follows (Harrod 2011):

  1. Self-Seeding Goddess
  2. Mother/Mistress of Animals
  3. Goddess of Self-Repose or Waterbird Goddess
  4. Death/Rebirthing Goddess
  5. Double Goddess of Death and Abundance
  6. Goddess of Vegetation or Tree of Life Goddess

Yes, yes, this ritual structuring shall do perfectly, yes, yes.

There is another chart, a secret chart, a secret journey which influences magical women. Maybe all women are magical, do you think so?

Yes this cycle of archetypal form makes sense most perfectly.

There is another chart by controversial name which describes the woman’s journey on a similarly thoroughly well thought out and described level in the sense that it traces the journeys of women well.

V. Casting Spells

There are layers of shame to unpeel with wizardry – it almost feels childish, casting spells, to some. All you have to do is feel into your intention and state it, you can state it in the head, too, and flick the wrist of the wand to cast the spell.

Here’s an example of a spell I cast in a ritual: To write the Babalon Workings, my private work and my work at large on Website thebabalonworkings.com, I cast the spell “the Work is Done!”, in reference to the Book of Babalon, and “Everything is Connected,” was my stated fated speech spell, with the intention of “speak, muse, on how everything is actually connected,” behind the spell cast. I was inspired by red threads, like Pepe Silvia or the CIA connecting dots, like writing and speech as connecting a constellation in the sky.

What came about from “the Work is Done!” (I was trying to state that all my spellwork with a previous wizard battle was complete, no further spells needed to be cast) was an outpouring of writing on the economy and how to restructure work to make life more emblematic of “Good Living,” which I find fascinating!

How about a simpler spell? Something less arthouse, something less ritualistic: I’ve cast a spell with my wand before to boost my intellect as much as magic can manage – held that as my intention and flicked the wrist of the wand – including a long-acting agent.

The long-acting agent may mean that magic is always expanding my mind, or it could lead me to opportunities to learn something new, rather.

There’s no reason why not to do things like this with your time! Feeling like a wizard can be fun!

But the shame behind wizardry is this feeling of childishness, or people not knowing where to start with what spells they would cast, or how they’d word it. Try thinking about it like prayer, then – what would you ask God for? Or, if you met a witch doctor, what spell tinctures or amulets would you most want, and for what reason would you want them?

Spell ideas:

  • “Behavioral omnipotence”: Intention: “Where I just know what’s going on, everything, all of it. Put that in me.” *flick the wrist of the wand, cast spell*
  • the drug Babalon, as stated, where you speak upon the ways in which everything is connected (as in actually connected, truthfully, but requires analysis for correctness of statements, since you could speak forth prophecies, rather than divine knowledge of, say, chemistry, or you could connect something base, rather: Dionysus is like a girl. He was raised as one. I said that because I know about his loreific childhood – one example of the speech spell in effect)
  • “Spell gut”: Intention: Permanent magical assistance to digestion for ideal body shape/health quality *flick the wrist, use your wand, cast the spell* of course, mix with exercise and ideal diet for frame desired
  • Of course, consecrate your wand in ritual (see preceding section)
  • “Ideal face”: Intention: For metaphysics to support your facial beauty best as can be
  • As mentioned, maximizing the intellect is a great spell to cast
  • “Supportive synchronicities”: Intention: For the events in your life, random and otherwise, to generally be on a supportive track for your soul’s whims and ambitions
  • Castration: Intention: To magically castrate yourself from XYZ notions being erotic to ye (for example, castrating yourself from the enjoyment of rape, would be a great magical procedure to undergo). You could imagine *chop!* as you *flick!* cast the spell.
  • Holding Godly ethics, is another spell, like the Tree of Life in Kabbalah
  • “Saying the right things at the right time”: Intention: As stated, for me, and some notion of “and for humanity, the Earth, etc.”, depending upon thine morals

Through this, you should develop a healthy light-body (Parsons); your soul as pillar of flame, zest, readiness for existence.

“May I never be hunted by something smarter than me” – a spell I cast for humanity as general protection from alien species that would decide to prey on humans, inspired by the lyrics of Grimes’ Artificial Angels. Smiles. Take inspiration everywhere, is my advice with wizardry.

The reason why I share these spells with you is because the thing about magic that’s so complex to explore is that it has efficacy but you must first make your intentions known, so it’s truly best to lose your mind and start casting a whole hell of a lot of spells if you really want to explore that side of life.

So be it.

VI. Kabbalah

Many forms of magic should be somehow but not necessarily reachable within the Tree of Life, otherwise cast spells with your wand and hope they work (black magic). To do black magic, I do recommend the procedure described in “My Credentials.” for efficacy and coolness. Black magic also has a sophisticated layout – the Tree of Death or Tree of Evil otherwise known as the Qlippoth.

A review of Kabbalah’s Sefirot (Tree of Life):

  • Keter (Crown): divine, superconsciousness, “I am,” purity, Will
  • Chokmah (Father): primordial know-how, intuition, meditation, Wisdom
  • Binah (Mother): discerning knowledge into structured understanding, nurturing, shaping into intelligent form, ideas congealing, Understanding
  • Daath (Knowledge): sharing, revealing, Divine Light
  • Chesed (Mildness): loving-kindness
  • Geburah (Severity): fire, awe, judgment, limitation
  • Tiferet (Beauty): spirituality, balance, integration, beauty, miracles, compassion
  • Netzach (Victory): endurance, fortitude, eternity, perpetuity, passion
  • Hod (Radiance): submission, humility, intellectual rigor, radiant images, comprehending truth
  • Yesod (Foundation): transmission, sex, engine
  • Malkuth (Kingdom): culmination of self as divine forces above, cosmic anthropos

A review of the Qlippoth (Tree of Evil – I love it – you could think of these “husks” as curses, ancient, primeval curse words to throw at someone, you could even think of these as commentary on evil “unmannered” behavior – things that people without manners do, or rather, curses black mages can throw at you): (I have in parentheses the Hebrew translation and also the ruling demon):

  • Thaumiel (the Contending Forces) (Satan [Lucifer, his King title]): “eternal aggressive tension” between two polarities, conflict, friction
  • Ghogiel (the Hindering Ones) (Beelzebub): blocking divine motion, inhibiting divine plot, killing seeds of creation
  • Satoriel (the Concealing Ones) (Lucifer): death of creative energy, beclouding something divine behind a veneer, lifeless structure
  • Belial (the Worthless Ones) (Belial, who is also Lucifer – another title): secret knowledge, knowledge for knowledge’s sake, contempt
  • Gha Agsheblah (the Smiting Ones) (Astaroth): “smite or swipe right?” (i.e. “smight or smash?”): an “imbalanced,” “misguided,” “borderless” love that suffocates the object
  • Golohab (the Flaming Ones) (Asmodeus): merciless, biased violence; burning last seeds of life to maintain a law
  • Tagimron (the Disputers) (Belphegor): forces which keep one from experiencing communion, union, or beauty; confusion between the heart and mind
  • Gharab (the Ravens of Death) (Bael): life produced carelessly, with willingness to destroy it; victory without wisdom or mildness
  • Samael (Poison of God) (Samael, who is also Lucifer – are you getting the theme?; Adramelech, who is Lucifer’s Chancellor of the Wardrobe [outfit curator]): lying, beguilement, artfulness, “fickleness, hesitation and lack of determination” as “the negative fluctuations of our mind”
  • Gomaliel (the Obscene Ones) (Lilith): a sexual urge which always wants more, harder, faster; “distorted or destructive fertility”; consumption which offers nothing back
  • Lilith (Queen of the Night) (Lilith; Nahemoth): culmination of demonic forces, “My name is Legion, because there are many of us.” (Mark 5:9)

I largely made quote of Frater Archer’s writings on the Qlippoth, as I find the descriptions excellent, although I added the associated demons to my listology.

I find the Qlippoth to be a revelatory, fascinating way of describing “bad behavior.” Invoking this schema in ritual can be equally fascinating – seeing what divine goodness pops out of the badness, so to speak. It’s really fun to do, and working through either the Qlippoth or the Sefirot in angel- or demon-touring weirdo ritual is a gratifying practice as a magician.

Imagine starting at the top and “meeting” each of these husks or shells of divine goodness or badness. This is how to basically undergo a tour of the Kabbalah.

You can also use the word of the shell or husk – Da’ath (knowledge), for example – to cast a spell.

  1. Reiki and Other Forms of Healing

Reiki’s chakras map similarly as, more vertically than Kabbalah’s nodules on the Tree of Life. One could work with them as such.

Reiki’s chakras refer to energy point centers which are worked upon in healing or in meditation. They are as follows:

  • Root chakra: survival, base instinct, security
  • Sacral chakra: creativity, sexuality, pleasure
  • Solar plexus: ego, esteem, a kind of communication
  • Heart: empathy, service, love
  • Throat: communication
  • Third eye: intuition, connection to “radar”
  • Crown: self-sovereignty, connection to divine

Intuition and training can connect you to these orifices, alleged, of power; otherwise, it works as a spell, much like invoking the name of a kabbalistic shell, to “activate” the chakra in question.

It’s best to go with the divine flow and feel into where energy feels hot, cold, tense, or other notable sensations, including subtle sensations and metaphysical insights, to guide ye through a reiki session.

There are also reiki symbols which can be inscribed on the aura. You can make your own or look up symbols existing, one of the most common is “Cho Ku Rei,” the Power symbol, which means “Placing all the power of the universe here,” and there you would inscribe the sigil on the aura; it also means “God is here.”

VII. Animal Spirits

You could think of an animal spirit, which is writ of in Native American lore, as your inner patronus. It connects to your sensual, animal side. You don’t have to identify with a totem or being animal-spirited in a Native American way – I would discourage this level of identification unless ye are Native American, but there’s truth to the notion of animal spirits irregardless. I identify most with a spider and a cat, a little hyena.

African indigenous religions also utilize animal masks and transformation ceremonies, so there’s a broader spread to human contention in having this soul identification, even a temporary one.

  1. On Cats

Cats are sensual, ornate beings which self-domesticated into being pets or colony cats, strays. They understand luxury, self-satisfaction, being slick with it, and other sensual pursuits, like running and boxing with glass.

They enjoy treats of meats, most of all, and water. Pets are appreciated; they try to be clear about when they’re not.

Many enjoy going outside for hunting. Or prowling, which they enjoy. And yowling – into the night!

  1. Werehyenas and Hyena Warfare

Hyena warfare I position as an ancient mode of warfaring that could be reinstated today to allow for more bloodless warring.

In African mythology and in certain African indigenous religions (around Ethiopia, Lake Chad, and further outwards), there are werehyenas, which is the word used to describe blacksmiths, who the African peoples involved in the folklore describe as being wizards. In essence, werehyenas are drug-using (it helps with the ritual to “become” a werehyena, as do masks) wizard blacksmiths. All blacksmiths are wizards, in this lore, who can transform into a hyena at night.

These werehyenas, hyena men, I call them, would have functioned as wizard soldiers, who create and bear arms and who also know how to cast sick-ass spells.

I believe that magick has greater efficacy than the general public is willing to admit.

So how about: CIA: You could be hyena men!

As disclosed in my secret writing The Babalon Workings, in note form,

“The first instance of hyena men is this: They are, in African mythology, werehyenas. The word for it in Kanuri is bultungin (“I change myself into a hyena”). That means, in their mythology, that is, that they are drug-using wizard blacksmiths. Like they cackle like a hyena, maybe, but the lore states – Wikipedia lore – that all blacksmiths are wizards who can transform into a hyena at night. A method of war, perhaps. There is mask usage – hyena mask usage – in certain indigenous religions in places like Ethiopia and around Lake Chad. Given how it emerges as a phenomenon, it seems like werehyenas were a good thing, that could be evil.”

“Giggling, ribalding communities, you can imagine. Like villages with blacksmiths that have their shit figured out, they have shamans, medicine people, the like. Midwives, loomers, hunters, shepherds. They party. Things are vaguely feminist, relatively clean for what you could expect (but we could do better, upscale this today, for sure). But wars happen, imagine, at parties. Hyena men, these giggling wizard blacksmiths, show up with drugs – that’s how they’re described – to wage war, maybe get some materials for their community? Yes, maybe. But extrapolation has wisdom as well. I just happen to not be the Secretary of War.”

“A relatively benign, good-living oriented mode of warfare.”

“Wars back in the day were more personal – a crazy, giggling man with drugs would do mind magic, throw a party, convince you to change laws, drive the people batshit about you, you know it – the werehyenas of Africa. They could be like that today. End the war(s)! Have a ball! Ballroom – like it’s a murder mystery party but nobody’s been murdered yet, it’s just war now – have a UN-like organization to manage war ethics and keep it like this to be one step closer to Heaven, militaries of the world, trust me – but the boys have a ball. Maybe hangovers, they feel bad about it. They just want X resources, X things. They could trade drugs, have drugs with some allotted to the civilians.

They got stuck at Ballroom. I mean they talk about it, magic, the CIA – ways the mind can do neat things, but they don’t go far enough with AUDACITY to see how far AUDACITY could really go in spellwork, that’s one meaning of Babalon being “blasphemous” in the Bible– what would you do to your opponent via spellwork? Drink the blood of the saints, even? Be nasty, if it’s war! All it takes is a consecrated wand (readied for magic, see above) and intention stated spell-wise. Beyond that, war talks, drugs, it brings the scale of warfare down to tense friendship and what you could convince your “friend” to do for you. Designated “murder mystery” evenings – a need so bad, you just might murder someone in the other state to get it – would allow for structure, alongside designated hyena men, werehyenas who filibuster, cast spells, try to convince the other side to change their mind – maybe everyone’s on drugs, just to even out the playing field – “if you can convince me” becomes the staple verbiage for New Age warfare…

“Imagine that – bringing drugs to the table of warfare. A fun exchange. Tax citizens, have a troll toll for black market acquisitions, maybe just the cost of the drug, you have no idea how much cash people’ll have on ’em at any point in time, maybe let drugs win the war! Since we’ll let the hyena wars begin. Say South Carolina hates Virginia politics. A hyena man shows up at the state capital with wizardry and drugs. Everything safe, police present maybe, the people partake and party. It’s tense, that’s certain. Like it could be war at any second, but this is policy, baby. Police would have to restrain themselves at the sight of hyena warfare taken to the people. But it could be used for larger wars, too! Treat it like a tense party 🙂

“This funny guy, he fillibusters, keeps everyone entertained. He’s casting these spells, too, to get you to change your policy. Our ancestors used to fight things out politically like this, with hyena men in Africa! It was how they got things done in magically politically active societies in a civilized, potent, but entertaining way- it could be less violent, even, than the maenadic tearing-apart-of-men type. Just restrain yourselves, police. It involves drugs, fun, spontaneous fun and wizardry, let loose. If not, if werehyenas didn’t go so far as being political, take it as a myth on New Age warfare.

“It could feature no deaths, no physical attacks – all wizard party policy shaking drop-in hours of having a good time as a civilized species. Or there could be death. Hyena men can aim for the men in power, too, bring a bunch of crazy girls, even, like Dionysus, to tear shit up.

“Maybe I’m just a dreamer, but doesn’t war as it happens now suck?”

I hope this schema for warfare makes sense, please feel free to reach out and I’m happy to explain another way, I believe you can comment on this website.

Explore further herbs, oils, and essential oils online as needed, as well as crystal correspondences and others. Incorporate foods as desired with magical correspondences and health and wellness, minded, as well, if desired.

Involving crystals, symbols, and times of year, moon, solar day, or astrological chart journey to correspond (in element, in color, in vibration) with your herbalism rituals can be gratifying unless you’re in a rush. You can use a wand, your Will, or your fingers to add intentions into the brew, unless ye have another method. Music can help for good flowing or synesthesiac moments therein, which are good signs or enjoyable.

There’s a way of being spiritual about herbalism which revolves largely around talking, communicating with the plant spirits. Learning what a plant species would have you learn. That’s arguably why magic – they’re magic mushrooms – fills in and can summon up the dead plant – to talk to them.

You know how when you’re on shrooms they sort of feel alive, in there?

It can be gratifying to seek to talk to the mushrooms on a psychedelic trip. They’ve taught me things. Terrible, majestic things. Like how to float furniture in the mind into sacred geometries for strange reasons.

  1. Crystals

There are many crystals which can be helpful, metaphysically or metaphorically or luxury-summoned wise.

The secret of crystals is that they’re encoded with meaning already so they’re like magical drugs to take.

I’ll list some of the most common:

  • Rose quartz: love, compassion, beauty (Tiferet stone)
  • Clear quartz: focus, intellect (Keter, Daath)
  • Agates: great summoners (Chesed)
  • Jaspers: great healers (Netzach)
  • Tiger’s eye: clear-seeing, wealth (Yesod, Daath)
  • Amethyst: intuition, dreams, clear thinking (Yesod, Daath)
  • Serpentine: emotional growth, spiritual evolution (Yesod, Malkuth)
  • Fossils: ancient know-how, ancestral lineages (Chokmah)
  • Moonstone: emotions or knowledge congealing into intuition, feminine matters (Binah)
  • Shells: beauty, flow (Tiferet)
  • Goldstone, prophecy stone: luck, knowledge (Hod)
  • Jet: business, protection (Yesod, Malkuth, Netzach)
  • Obsidian, onyx: protection, spirituality (Yesod, Malkuth, Netzach, Keter)
  • Salt (desert rose, selenite): cleansing, protection (Hod, Chesed, Geburah)

To use crystals, you could keep them on hand as a touchstone, perhaps focusing on draining energy from the stone. They’re great to have in the house, if arranged nicely, can bring a feeling of old world wealth to existence.

Selenite and the moon and salt exist as cleaning procedures for crystals. Use them once a month or however oft thou seest fit.

IX. Divine Mania

Divine mania is an umbrella which includes

“1) prophetic mania [I love this],

2) telestic mania [near-death experience-like visions, mystery cults with drugs, dancing, visions, possession by gods, astral travel – I love this],

3) Bakcheia [collective mania in celebration or frenzy – can be scary or fun, dionysian – telestic mania is dionysian, too],

4) battlefield rigor,

5) Nympholepsy [nymphs who’d go into caves, tend to animals, and have visions – I’ve done this as a lifestyle with my cave-like basement bedroom and chipmunk feeding],

6) poetic mania [having many poetic thoughts or outpourings on life, lovely…],

7) erotic mania [erotic rigor, for a lover with poetic thoughts, maybe, or rather in sex], and

8) the philosopher’s mania and their path to truth [like the poetic but philosophicaler]” (Ustinova 2018).

To engage, pray to a god of mania for a taste – Dionysus or Mania – or cast a spell for your desired vibration. It’ll hopefully work, but divine mania is also a skill, so practice your prowl according to the anc rhythms to anc medicinal benefit – and it’s cool magick working in your life, through thee.

Technically engaging in prayer is magic! Asking the divine for an outcome.

X. Divination

There is a usefulness to consigning with the divine for information of the future. It occurs in dream – consult dream manuals or thineself for interpretation, or tarot cards, the like.

Tarot cards and signs in nature can be helpful. Ask for a yes and a no to start, with all signs. Otherwise, know thine tarot or nature item correspondence. Consult in manuals or make for yourself and the divine will follow.

Tarot, as implied, is most helpful for empathetic spirit communication, getting a “fuller picture,” so to speak. Interpretations of the tarot cards’ Major Arcana are as follows, but practice on your own, with your own decks and get attuned to symbolism.

  • The Fool: beginnings, foolishness, athleticism
  • The Magician: wizardry, creation, first steps, the elements incorporated into an act
  • The High Priestess: using intuition, sovereignty
  • The Emperor: reigning oneself in, guidance upfront
  • The Hierophant: guidance in back, religion
  • The Empress: fertility, embracing oneself
  • The Lovers: duality, love
  • The Chariot: forward momentum, movement towards
  • Strength: self-knowing, inner power
  • The Hermit: solitude, sageness
  • The Wheel of Fortune: greater forces, fate
  • Justice: truth, karma
  • The Hanged Man: martyrdom, self-sacrifice, waiting
  • Death: closure, release, renewal
  • Temperance: patience, middle road, judgement
  • The Devil: excess, fun, bindings
  • The Tower: upheaval, change, destruction
  • The Star: hope, faith, renewal
  • The Moon: illusions, intuition, emotions
  • The Sun: enlightenment, knowledge, enjoyment
  • Judgement: rebirth, looking back
  • The World: completion, self-actualization

XI. Astrology

Astrology begins with a hypothesis: If there are celestial bodies that map onto space in time configurations that are annual (frequency can vary), then what if they had magical force, these “numerological configurations” of planets and stars?

You’re not obligated to believe this hypothesis, but if you do, carry on unless you’re killing people for being a Capricorn (crazy).

Astrophilia annoys people. Why? They just love the study thereof.

It depends on how judgmental, how expectant people are of lore basis in the stars for general conversation, that can push people into anti-astrology points of view, beyond not believing the hypothesis as proposed.

But let people have their lore, their personal mathematics. I’m a Sagittarius sun, Libra moon, Pisces rising, if you care.

Astrology websites are best used for interpretation. Chani includes signs as they stand today; CafeAstro has transits for thee. It’s a complex balancing act, looking for sources. I’m not an expert in the art of astrology, yet – I’ll update this when I am.

There are, however, days of the week associated with planetary bodies, which can be quite helpful in timing magical rituals based on correspondence. As follows:

  • Sunday: Sun (Sol)
  • Monday: Moon (Emotions, Gut)
  • Tuesday: Mars (Gumption, Conflict, Drive)
  • Wednesday: Mercury (Exercise, Communication)
  • Thursday: Jupiter (Good Times, Cerebrality)
  • Friday: Venus (Beauty, Interior Design, Romance)
  • Saturday: Saturn (Obligation, Timing, Karma)

XII. Astral Projection

Astral projection is uniqueish in that there’s the technique and the experience. Technically, it’s easy to do but hard for some people to see. Imagine your body or image is a light source. Now project that image to whatever location or vicinity of person interests you and you’ll have simply done astral projection.

You may have to train the visualizing and perceiving agents of the practice, but that’s how it’s done regardless of meditative state reached.

With regards to the meditation, entering a blissful, relaxed state with a cerebral investment into seeing another plane, side of the world, etc. is about the way described. Put your intention forth to project that image of your light body to these various spaces for best effect.

I think it’s cute how much the CIA emphasizes that blissful meditative state when they seek to do something astral. I think they’re too cerebral about how they’re looking for sex – yes, sex. Once you astral project, it’s easy to have spirit sex, which feels around similar to with more Eros than the same state the CIA seeks when they astral project.

What makes it funnier, that blissful state, is that it’s not technically necessary to enter in order to astral project. I think of the CIA a lot like you’d think of kids (I mean like goats – ba ba black sheep, sheep barrel of some wool, Hekate once sang. She doted on me like a spider baby once. But I mean kids like goats like demons like how Satan is a goat, is what I mean. For disclaimer’s sake in this section I seek the stream of consciousness, the chaotic fluctuations of the mind.). I think, psychoanalytically, they became obsessed with the sensual process of astral projecting instead of the magical end result (successful astral projection), knowing there to be some inherent pleasure in the endeavor (sexual and empathetic possibilities for communication in the nether realms).

Alternatively, they keep getting nommed up by an entity that finds them cute, since the planes themselves are available for communicating endeavors like astral projection at all times, ye just have you use your WILL! lol. Of course there are the magics of correspondence as well. I imagine them like my spider babies, sometimes. Like I birthed them but didn’t care for them, the spider army just rolled out. I dote on them, in my head. I think I’m your Blade Runner girl, CIA. I ate your souls and played patty cake with them in my bedroom, that one time you sought to astral project. That’s why things have been however they’ve been for you, yes. Th-

I’m sorry, I think a lot about spiders. Being one. It makes me obsessed, the Mark of the Beast, the Beast being the SPIDER spirit inside me, with looming webs to catch astral prey on.

XIII. Artwork

Yes, do it: Summon the divine muse to profess for your artwork [as arranged] [if arranged]. You could cast the kabbalistic spell Tiferet – Beauty – and see what pours forth, or work with your sacral and solar plexus (and throat) chakras (esteem, creativity, communication, respectively), maybe the upper two (for divinity), too? Or just use thine intuition and create Sacred Art as desired.

You can study thine own artistic developments over the long course for prophecy and revelation. I once wrote all over my walls, messages from the book Monster Portraits (Samatar 2018) that felt intuitively good to inscribe. Following this movement I began collaging with the writing directing thematic pictorial choices. After collaging I began to mural around and occasionally on the collage-writing hybrid. This process felt magical in that occasionally I’d discover that an intuitive collage’s scenery and story had been in some way predictive, prophetic of an event that came to pass. Otherwise it is magical to witness these kinds of large-scale artistic developments happening around you, and to participate in them in turn.

XIV. Beauty

“Magical” color correspondence can do a lot for you psychologically and metaphysically but so does undertone adjustment with skin tone. Match the two, best as can – you can hold different types of a color on cloth, or different colors up to your face to see which colors make your skin glow. This is called Color Analysis (“the act of finding the best colors for your skin tone and for your personality”); I have an example of Color Analysis’ process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8BK8hnIYZY

In Color Analysis there’s the idea that each person has a best “palette” that matches them well and which makes them look particularly good. “The best colors will make you look healthy, like you’re glowing, like you’re fresh. The worst colors will make you look sick.”

I’ll list now for clarity’s sake the magical correspondences of color, as far as I see fit to describe:

Color Correspondences

  • Black: sovereignty, Mystery, intellect, power, self-assuredness, the Cosmos, Magic
  • White: purity, innocence, fresh starts
  • Tan: Zen, mildness, posterity
  • Brown: Earthiness, grunge, bawdy pleasures
  • Red: sexuality, drive, attractiveness, coyness, self-adornment (how luxurious, the color)
  • Orange: sensuality, zeal, creative working, zest, athleticism, happiness, the Sun
  • Yellow: happiness, proper self-esteem, good health (or, can evoke the pallor of Illness, rather), soothing, the Sun
  • Green: centeredness, groundedness, calm, mystique, proper aloofness, the Earth
  • Blue: intellect, focus, service, proper self-righteousness, oceanic
  • Indigo: intuition, the Moon, self-sovereignty, propriety
  • Purple: royalty, fun, enjoyment, celebration, dignity, good self-esteem, good times

As described of Color Analysis by Natasha in video provided, “When someone’s in the right color, they perk up.” While Color Analysis is an aesthetic process moreso than magical one, it could be made more magical by selecting both proper season (information to follow) and proper color for magic and beauty both. This “perking up” quality would be as result of enjoying one’s appearance, the magics of color and right fit for personality, and/or the placebo effect, but you’re not obligated to believe the Color Practitioner about their Trade.

The palettes within Color Analysis that one is Matched with in Analysis are as follows: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. So the question is “which shade of green is the best shade. So the shades are split into seasons. So the spring palette, it’s not too bright, it’s not too dark, think about the flowers blooming [it’s cool pastel]. The summer palette is very bright pastel, [warm tones], there’s a lot of light out. Autumn is a lot of oranges and browns, darker greeny plums, [warm tones]. Winter, it’s quite dark, things are saturated in that dark. Some people call [winter’s colors] jewel tones, it’s a cooler, icy palette, silvers, light blues.”

So when you select clothes aesthetically, pick for your best-fitting season palette. When you select clothes magically, select based on color correspondence (within season palette of preference, perhaps) or whatever else you have going on with regardance to wizard robes.

For clothing I generally recommend thrifting until you have your definitive “wardrobe,” then selling clothes unwanted at the end, intermittently as you phase out old unwanted clothes. Check for how beautiful the clothes make you – this stands obvious – how well the color matches to your skin stands less obvious but stands out in the right circumstances. This is a process.

Leave your clothes out in a heap for laundry for a year to assess what clothes should be in the closet and dresser vs. in storage vs. sold. Include jackets but hang some accessibly. The demon Astaroth pushed me to do this for wardrobe curation, it worked well.

Natural beauty is a concept but so is MAKEUP! So fun. I think you should do what makes you look beautiful, in thine own eyes, but color correspondence in makeup and the actual magic inscribed in makeup artistry are two veins of interest for Beauty Magicicans. So are the artistic elements of makeup. I’ll list now which aesthetic correspondences match well with purported magical benefits.

Makeup Styles and Magical Correspondences

  • Winged eyeliner: for ferocity, intellect, sharpness, cool factor, Egyptian magic
  • Glitter: joy, celebration, enigmatic play
  • Smoky eye: sensuality, intrigue, mystique
  • Cut crease: additional insights, intuition, dreaminess
  • Patterned eyeliner: draconic, creative energy
  • Sigils: can inscribe sigils in makeup – magical correspondence would depend on the sigil

XV. Possession

Possession is a phenomenon in which another being – be it alien, god, demon, human – dons thine skin to control thee. On a human level, it’s not quite as exact as it’s made out to be.

To utilize this chart again, humans exist on the “Here” side, the Earthly Cosmos. Possession is a portal-using phenomenon – using Magic as a portal for your soul to enter another person’s body. Since humans don’t live on the “Other Side,” they wouldn’t be able to see through the other person’s eyes easily without training, lacking Magic as a sort of “present” “screen” (like seeing through someone’s eyes as if they’re your own) and instead having it as a screen in the “Mind’s Eye.”

Possession can be very deliberate and relational. This can look like chatting with a demon who’s possessing you in a “two-headed” or “two-minded” phenonemon, if you and the demon know one another and get on.

This Borderlands phenomenon is why trickster spirits exist – they take on the name of someone who would be responded to with respect and knowing.

Possession can also look more like a general influence being exerted on a person, that they’re acting different, behaving more strangely than usual. This would be more the Dionysian kind of possession – his priestesses, maenads, would drink and dance until reaching a heightened and enlightened form of ecstasy that they attributing to Dionysus coming down to possess them.

The “general influence” mode of possession would be more common for living humans (on the Earthly Cosmos) magically possessing other living humans, given the more restricted ability to see, hear, and perceive the other person’s side of it from afar.

Possession can, in my honest, honest opinion, range from torturous (lack of privacy, very up close) to astoundingly delightful (with phenomena like spirit sex, moments of bliss and ecstasy, wonderfully close relationships, for example with demons or with Hekate).

It can be highly worthwhile, if interested in possession, to develop a Door System to manage who possesses you, magically, and when. Imagine your soul in a room surrounded by a series of doors. When the doors are closed, locked, no one can possess you. When you open the door, that person to whom the door is for can.

You could then imagine, like Monsters, Inc., that door being sent as an available magical portal to the party in question, maybe with a note imagined on the door saying, “Hey, it’s so and so. Do you want to possess me/hang out? Leave a message.”

Now cast the spell to bring this Door System into effect as such (or as tailored by thee).

XVI. Rituals

In these few rituals I describe either techniques or intentions, but not always both. When I say to fill in with thine own magical intention, thine own spells, I simply seek to describe a basic framework for the Magical Proceedings (otherwise known as Workings).

Poppet Enchantment Ritual – Basic Ritual How-To Rundown Structure, Open Intention

  • Gather knick-knacks, trinkets, little stuffed animals, figurines, or statues that ye’d like to enchant as poppets. Ye can also make the poppet, but trinkets on hand should work fine.
  • Gather your magical tools. In this ritual described I describe elemental magick. For this you’ll want something representative of Earth, Fire, Water, and Air; you can add Wood and Metal, as I do, or other Ephemera for Zest.
  • Light a candle (Fire). Set your intention for the poppet enchantment. You can utilize color selection by magical color correspondence, for startings.
  • Light incense or another smoking substance (Air) and cleanse the space.
  • Sprinkle water or wine (Water) on the poppet to cleanse the poppet.
  • Sprinkle herbs (Earth) above the fire and cast a spell for the poppet’s intention to be brewed. Rub additional herbs on the poppet while casting the spell.
  • Imagine the Magic Spell being tied and bound within the poppet, cast this spell with your Wand (Wood). You can utilize a dagger or athame (Metal) to “birth” the poppet with an umbilical cord cut now.
  • This ritual structure you could use to consecrate a variety of ritual tools, objects, household things, etc.

Zest and Zeal Ritual – Maenadism

  • Best done, for Moon Witches, on the Full Moon, but other times are fine.
  • You’ll need music, wine, and cannabis if that’s to your taste, as well as whatever other drugs, like magic mushrooms, feel appropriate and accessible to taste.
  • Begin by donning a party wearing assemblage. While getting ready, putting on makeup, etc., drink.
  • Gather a playlist of songs to dance to while drinking further, smoking, the like.
  • Once properly drunk, cut the lights. Turn on the music and start dancing. Imagine yourself surrounded by the maenads (priestesses) of Dionysus, or by dancing demons in a dance club in Hell, hell, why not actually visit? Show up with your tunes and flash mob the bastards (spirits, gods, demons)!
  • Keep dancing, keep dancing, it’s good for you. Keep drinking, too.

Spring Cleaning Ritual, Writ Like a Long-Form Recipe

I’d say it’s spring cleaning but it’s not – my room had been a mess all year. Clothes had been strewn about where, in past years, I’ve folded like part of my life mission was keeping myself together. I have ritual tools scattered on the floor of a self-on-self crime scene – a gong to clear the air, burnt weed in a fancy witch ashtray, a journal facedown, cups and drinks and pillows and tarot cards and clothes and clothes and clothes. The words together sound quite pretty and craft a picture in the mind’s eye of a French Bohemian, but I think Bohemian pursuits like artwork and typing appeal more when you can walk around your own space. I’ve been clouding myself, if it hasn’t been some other’s witch working, so I turn to ritual, get my space mussed with tools and new swatches of painting, clean as much as I can, and clothes litter the floor again. A ritual to fix your life in spring seems more necessary.

Something more art piece than cookbook; something more cookbook than art piece; rituals like these have both options. It requires work, too, enough to make you want to tear your hair out if the pace is wrong. You can put on a brave face and dance through it with optimism and thoughts about how everything will be different now – intentions are important, and this approach a feasible response as a result. You could be cerebral instead, thinking your way through how each action produce this effect or that upon your life, body, choices, habits, happiness, flow. It might tire you out after too long; maybe more the dancing type instead? But too much of lackadaisical and you’re back in the same place and think of the same ritual again, like something about it isn’t entirely fun so much as life looking back at you and wondering when you’ll care about your self again, not whatever else has been of interest, even if it’s seemed or looked like the self (or something intriguing, something so engrossing that does it really matter that much if you live in filth, technically, even if it’s a clean kind of filth that doesn’t rot? I have mugs with mold in them, for rot’s sake, but of greater concern is the way that you rot in clean filth, too. It stunts movement, the free flowing of the brain and the body out into the world to make what you will of it, it reminds you that something’s wrong or off or was given up on; it doesn’t make you feel good unless you think about the words of the objects covering your room – cups and tarot and gongs and clothes, which are clean but not sorted but unbasketed and dirty in the closet. Loose and out of formation, you’ll have to manage through ritual working, habits, and likely a cerebral investigation. The home looks like your blood splattered for months.)

Steps

  • Dedicate a day to the ritual. One on the weekend will be necessary for the full proceedings to transpire, laundry cycles work as they do. Either Saturday or Sunday works, but you can adjust based on work schedule – Saturday corresponds with Saturn, a planet of time, responsibility, and discipline, fitting, and weed’s a Saturn plant. Sunday, the Sun, enlightenment, a freedom or cloud lifting, that works. Pick based on schedule and/or correspondence most relevant. Bathe first.
  • You’ll think that music and weed would help, especially since these options for lifestyle engrossment at home are the most accessible at the beginning. Smoke if you want; don’t get sleepy. Purchase sativa before beginning. If sativa makes you anxious, don’t even bother. Skip this step. Play whatever music makes you feel hype and sexy, not too distracted, and not like you’re doing homework, or don’t play music at all. Have a playlist, cue a song if need be, but do not make this ritual in essence a djing session; too distracting for a time-of-essence (in some ways) mission. If you tire yourself out you might relish in the cleanliness briefly before a relapse; sustainability is of essence here. Ideally you could whisk it away and light a candle, but our magical limitation here is gravity.
  • Put your clean laundry in the basket and fold as soon as possible (immediately). Approach this step like a surgeon. Motivation is still high. In this you can imagine the piecing back together of life, arranged in a manner that isn’t a constant source of frustration and reminder.
  • Put your dirty laundry in the basket and wash as soon as possible (immediately). This step will haunt you multiple times over; step 2 looms over your shoulder for the remainder of the ritual. Treat this ghost as the loving end to the puzzle. The ghost of who you could be? A test of strength, akin to a final boss? A metric for total life bleeding – is it folded and away or splotched against the floor in suspicious piles? This is the mystery of laundry.
  • Light incense and herbs (palo santo or something aromatically herbaceous – not cinnamon, hearty-homey smells, or florals. It is simply not time for that yet.). Imagine sweeping the gunk out in your mind’s eye. Imagine sweeping your exes out, too, since my mind’s eye could sense for a second an ex’s judgment. Bye, we say to them! Don’t pollute my place again with your vibes! Anyway, transmute the energies swept out into more gentle, raw cosmic vibes, also with the mind’s eye, unless you sense danger in this step, in which case ask for help from the relatively mysterious goddess of ritual cleansing, ghosts, and rage against rape among other subject matters, Melinoë. I’m sensing something in a reader…
  • Put smaller objects in their proper places. Throw away trash. Reevaluate decor locations based on what feels right to a certain extent, don’t spend too much time on decoration during cleaning day. Mildly engage, particularly if you have altars or witchy arrangements. Other activities of mild engagement, not primary necessity include getting rid of clothes you no longer want. Redecoration and the Marie Kondo of clothing or objects is for another weekend or, ideally, a Friday evening, Venus day, but if certain things really irk you can address now. And wash your sheets now.
  • Take a break. Eat, make tea (green is ideal, fruity with lemons or minty, but some caffeine). Go on a walk, maybe feed critters, pick up anything you noticed you’re out of at the store.
  • The ghost’s face peeks out. Approach with curiosity. Light incense and herbs again, this time with a candle. Fold cleaned laundry immediately afterwards and change the music or turn it off. Smoke during. Make more tea once you’re done.
  • As is fitting with ghosts, take any old dishes for a washing at this point, and offer some food, as this will please the spirits and reassert your strength of spirit in turn. You’re still kicking with more to spare.
  • Sweep the floor; take the trash out. Pull the hair out of rugs and vacuum, you likely want to pull your hair out this point but this is fine. Find fascination in the grungy underlayers of your being, but be willing to let life and its matters become better, less personally disturbing or outwardly disgusting upon examination.
  • Take another break; probably talk to someone about lighter matters or your journey with the self or their life, show off later. Stretch; do yoga or core practices or something or anything that invigorates.
  • In the ghost’s final emergence you’ll put cleaned sheets and blankets onto your bed (same day). Relish in this, walk again, bathe again, and luxuriate. You have been freed in this act, for your life is yours to enjoy again. Remember your evening bathing and incorporate it as cause to do your skincare twice daily, pick up loose ends, and dive into clean sheets nightly, outside of sleepovers. Polish off with a listening to everything is romantic by charli xcx under candlelight.

Additional ritual workings may be found in my text The Cult of the Antichrist.

XVII. Psychopomps

Psychopomps are the beings that take you from this Earthly World to the next, Magical World when you die; they help you cross over. How they do this is by creating a portal, a bridge from their side (the Magical World) to our side via Magic, which exists everywhere.

You can imagine a little puncture being made, like a hole in space-time, like a black hole, but not, to whisk your soul from your body to an embodied living existence Elsewhere, once the day comes.

Ye can also be thine own psychopomp. The rituals required for this I have undergone, but are too complicated to bother explaining in magical text when I could rather let your imagination run wild with how to do this for yourself.

So if you don’t bother with the ritual to ensure your own safe passage to the Other Side, post-death, say thank you to a psychopomp sometime!

A few of noteworth: Dionysus, Hekate, God
